Fresh gunfight between Kuki militants and Village Volunteer at Sekmai, Manipur

Imphal: Today in Sekmai, Kuki militants started gunfire in some parts of Sekmai. Reportedly from the site of the village, a volunteer has been injured during the gunfight. And of the Kuki militants, two were killed during the gunfight.

Today, Manipur is celebrating Khongjom Day at Khongjom Memorial Park. Just after the election is over, the bloodshed between the two sides starts again. The Manipur government has always argued that Manipur has been normal for the last six months. But there is always tension between two communities.

There are thousands of displaced people staying in relief camps, but still, they cannot be able to return to their homes. They are always claiming that they want to return to their home, but the government is not ready to give them relief.

Many civil society organizations are also demanding that the government stop this violence, but the government is not able to solve the current crisis. So many lives have been lost due to this violence, and many of them are not able to find their bodies. Meitei cannot go to the Kuki dominant areas, and Kuki cannot come to the valley.
